Langvann - James Bond Filming Location

This forest lake in the hills above Nittedal became a James Bond set in March 2019, when a second unit crew arrived to film scenes for No Time to Die, Daniel Craig's final outing as 007. The frozen Langvann and the snowy forests around it stood in for the remote Norwegian setting of Madeleine Swann's childhood home.

The film's traumatic flashback sequence, where the young Madeleine hides under the ice, was shot here on the frozen lake. The location was chosen for its wild, isolated feel despite being barely 30 minutes from central Oslo. When the film premiered in 2021, Norwegian audiences recognised the Nordmarka forest immediately.

Langvann is accessible on foot from several trailheads in the Nittedal area. In summer it is a popular swimming and hiking destination; in winter the frozen lake draws cross-country skiers. There is no memorial or marker at the filming location itself.
