Jeløya is a large island connected to Moss by a short bridge. It feels surprisingly rural for being so close to town, with farms, forests, and rocky coastline. The main reason to come here is art.

Galleri F15 sits at Alby gård, a historic farm on the southern tip of the island. The gallery was founded in 1966 and has become one of Norway's most respected venues for contemporary art. Since 1998, it hosts MOMENTUM, a Nordic biennial of contemporary art that draws international attention. The exhibitions change regularly and the quality is consistently high.

The setting adds to the experience. Alby gård dates back centuries, and the grounds include old stone buildings, open fields, and coastal paths. The sculpture park extends the art outdoors. On a good day, the combination of art and landscape is one of the best cultural experiences in the Oslofjord area.

The rest of Jeløya is good for walking and cycling. The western shore has swimming spots and views across the fjord. It is not a major tourist destination, which is part of the appeal.
