Håen rises 438 metres on Værøy's central mountain ridge, offering a commanding view over the abandoned village of Måstad far below and the bird cliffs of Måstadfjellet. On clear days the panorama extends across the Vestfjord to the mainland and, if conditions are right, as far as the Svartisen glacier 120 kilometres away.
The trail starts from the road above Sørland and follows the mountain ridge, with some steep sections and uneven ground. Allow roughly three hours for the round trip. The hike can be combined with the trail down to Måstad, though this adds considerably to both distance and time.
