In 1976, fisherman Åsvar Tangrand taught himself glassblowing and opened northern Norway's first glass studio in the village of Vikten on Flakstadøya. His son Anders now runs the workshop, shaping bowls, vases, sculptures, and jewellery from molten glass while visitors watch.
The red wooden building sits between two mountains with views across the sea. A small cafe serves coffee and cake, and the gallery sells finished pieces. Open May to September.
