Furebergfossen is a waterfall right by road 500, about 6 kilometres west of Sundal. The water drops roughly 150 metres down the mountainside, flows under the road, and falls straight into the Maurangerfjord. You do not need to hike anywhere. It is right there as you drive past.
In 1958, the waterfall served as a backdrop for the Hollywood film "The Vikings" starring Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis. The crew built a full Viking village set on the opposite shore of the Maurangerfjord, with Furebergfossen visible across the water. The film's longboat scenes were shot on the Nærøyfjord near Balestrand.
If you are heading to or from Bondhusvatnet, you will pass it. There is space to pull over. Worth a two-minute stop.
