Fresvik

15 minutes
Fresvik is a small village on the western shore of the Aurlandsfjord, directly across from Aurland. About 250 people live here. The village sits on a rare flat area along the fjord, with fruit orchards and farmland behind it.

Most visitors pass through Fresvik without stopping, either heading to Vik along the fjord road or driving up the mountain to Skard, which is the starting point for the Skomakarnipa hike. The road from Fresvik up to Skard is narrow and steep.

There is a small Coop shop, a church, and a kayak rental. The express boat between Bergen and Sogndal stops here. The village has no real tourist infrastructure, which is part of its appeal. It is one of the quietest inhabited places on the Sognefjord.
