Davvi Álbmogiid Guovddáš (Centre for Northern Peoples) sits by the Manndalselva river in Kåfjord municipality, in the heart of the coastal Sami district of northern Troms. Opened in 2011, the center combines a museum, gallery, gift shop, Sami library and a Sea Sami kitchen serving traditional food. The building also houses the Riddu Riđđu indigenous festival office, a Sami language center and a branch of the Sami Parliament. Exhibitions cover the art, culture and daily life of northern peoples, with a particular focus on the Sea Sami communities of the Lyngen fjord area.
