Bøvær is a small settlement on Senja's west coast, visited mainly for its sandy beach and the view over Bergsfjorden with its archipelago of 98 islands. The beach is wide and sheltered compared to the exposed headlands nearby.
At the edge of the village stands Kråkeslottet, an old fish factory building that has been used for exhibitions and events. The name means "the crow's castle."
