Bø is a small town of around 6,600 people in the Midt-Telemark valley. It merged with neighbouring Sauherad in 2020 to form Midt-Telemark municipality.
The town is best known for Bø Sommarland, Scandinavia's largest water park, which sits just north of the town centre. It draws around 200,000 visitors every summer.
Bø also has a campus of the University of South-Eastern Norway, which gives the town a younger feel than most places this size in Telemark. The university has around 17,000 students across eight campuses, and Bø is one of the smaller ones.
There is not much reason to stop in Bø itself unless you are passing through on your way between the Telemarkskanalen route and the E134. The town centre is functional but unremarkable.
